A Riddle*

He remembered it was about 3:35?**
A grand prize for the winner. You must be specific. Google all you want; I thought this up myself.
*Are riddles inherently dorky, or is it just me?
**Question mark added at the insistence of the President of the Frank Gorshin Fan Club – Springfield Chapter.
I don’t recall a period on the front of Frank Gorshin’s costume, so I disqualify this as a riddle.
I’m guessing the answer (or question?) has something to do with some obscure Tom Waits lyric, but of course I’ll futilely ponder this thing all weekend. Thanks.

I’m more perplexed by your asterisk comment. Are you asking if you’re the only one who thinks riddles are iherently dorky or if just YOU are inherently dorky?

Russ,
Happy now?
Nancy,
Either one.
Thanks for commenting,

Much better…but no less cryptic. I have no idea what the answer (or question) is, but maybe if I share my thought process with the other guessers, we can crack this bad boy.
1) The obvious key to the “riddle” is 3:35.
2) 3:35 can be broken down a few different ways. 3 Hours 35 Minutes (215 Minutes), 3 Minutes 35 Seconds (215 Seconds), coordinates on a map, etc. But the most likely direction here would be an actual time.
3) So 35 minutes past the hour of 3. Or in other words, 25 minutes until 4. 25 until 4, 25 ’til 4, 25 to 4.
4) The first thing that comes to mind when you say that out loud is “25 or 6 to 4″, by Chicago, but that does nothing to solve this riddle (and Peter Cetera doesn’t seem a very Dan-like riddle answer).
I’ll ponder for a while more, and then I expect a hint.

My guess was going to be Robert Lamm, who wrote the Chicago song 25 or 6 to 4. Don’t even know if I am on the right track, but thought I would throw it out there.

After Nancy and Russ flirted with the correct answer, Paco swoops in to win a grand prize.
The story goes that Robert Lamm came up with the tune in the wee hours of the morning, the precise time being about 3:35 or maybe 3:36. Thus, when he got around to writing the lyrics, he remembered it being 25 or 6 to 4.
What a wonderful riddle!

You win a grand prize!
Enjoy.

Dan, 25 or 6 to 4 – wouldn’t that be 25 or 26 to 4? In other words 3:34 or 3:35, not 3:35 or 3:36?

Laura,
You’re right. But please don’t let my carelessness distract from the beauty of the riddle.

Can you punctuate the following, in order to make it a proper English sentence?
I said that that that that that man wrote should have been underlined

The following time I read a weblog, I hope that it doesnt disappoint me as a lot as this one. I imply, I do know it was my choice to learn, however I truly thought youd have one thing fascinating to say. All I hear is a bunch of whining about something that you may repair for those who werent too busy searching for attention.
