A little late and I’m not sure it exactly fits your criteria but “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner” is an excellent show with some of the best dialogue I have ever heard.

My vote is The Philadelphia Story. Another Cary Grant movie that is good is Houseboat, with Sophia Loren-but this one is also in color. I’m not much of a wine connisseur, but I always like the ones with great names, like Angry Housewife(totally not directed at you Tammy, that’s just the only one to come to mind right away, I swear.)

Dang. Nick beat me to “The Apartment”. As soon as you qualified your query with pre-1966 and romantic comedy, that popped into my head. Plus, there are lots of laughs.

My vote would be for either “Charade” or “Some Like It Hot,” both of which serve up some other nice genre side dishes with their romance. Or, if you’ve seen “SLIH” and still want some Billy Wilder-Jack Lemmon greatness, try “The Apartment.” The only knock against “Charade,” given your criteria, is that it’s in color.

As for wine, we bought a bottle called, I think, 14 Hands (or something like that) at the Corkscrew last week. Robust red. Good stuff.
