Danslist: Digital Video Camera Wanted
By Dan on Jun 11, 2008 in Blog, Local
Inspired by iCarly, my oldest daughter has been staging productions, using the video feature on our digital camera to make two-minute recordings. I’d like to encourage her artistic expression by getting her a digital video camera. If anyone has recently upgraded and wants to unload their old one, please let me know. A basic model will do, with ease of use being the most important feature. I can’t promise that I’ll pay top dollar, but I’ll definitely pay some type of dollar.
Also, now that you’ve all convinced me to get a Wii, any suggestions on where to purchase one? The only place I’ve found them available is on eBay and Craigslist. Apparently the Wii retail vultures that Mary commented on are unloading them there at a premium.
Dan
I’ll check with Rob about whether or not he is still alerted to Wii availability via email.
Funny you mention the video camera. Our kids just discovered our older model and have been busy making lots of movies. The last one entailed Sean sitting on the kitchen counter meticulously picking the marshmallows out of (generic) Lucky Charms. It’s a lot of fun to see the stuff they come up with.

Santa found our Wii at the movie store (Hollywood Video/Game Crazy on Sangamon Avenue). They only get a few at a time I think. One day Rick asked the guy at the game counter if they ever got any, and they didn’t have any at the time but he agreed to take our number and call when they got a couple in. A couple of weeks later they called to say they had two and we high-tailed it in there. Since then, he tried to get on ‘the list’ again for his sister and they claimed they don’t have and never had a wait list, so I don’t know if we just lucked out with a really nice employee or what. But if wouldn’t hurt to check in there periodically.

If the Wii is advertised in the Sunday ads for a store, they should have it locally. Toys R Us has had some the last few times I have been in there. We got ours at the Walmart in Jville.

Best Buy, Toys R us, Target, and most of the gamming stores in town advertise Wii’s but they’re never in stock. Ask an employee about when they expect more to come in (or as someone said, read the ads in the paper) and be there bright and early to snag one. There’s also this: wiialerts.com.
And I’ll ask the hubby if he wants to unload our digital video camera that we never use any more.

I found these cool Flip Video cameras. They are cheap and handy. http://theflip.com/ Haven’t been able to justify the price since I have to other video cameras, but I want one. Looks perfect.

Oops guess I need to read the comments better. Looks like someone already posted the Flip.
