I plan a fair amount of meetings for work in IL including the Chicago area and can’t offer up any suggestions, either in or around Chi, that are below $170-ish…though I did just secure a room rate of $129 for a group rate (typically $190) by just asking.

I’m with Dave H….look to websites that offer discounts (Priceline, Hotwire, Expedia). This is your best bet…unless you’re interested in staying at the Flea Bag Motel.

We’re heading out of town in a couple of hours, but I’ll talk to Rob and see if he has any suggestions and call you from the road if he does. My guess is that the distance from the airport needed to find a substantially cheaper rate will likely necessitate you leaving in the wee hours anyway.
