SBC DSL is sllllooowww

Before I seek support, I want to find out if any other local SBC DSL customers have been suffering under dial-up-like conditions in recent days. Since this past weekend, we’ve been subjected to super slow downloads and timed-out pages, both on our flagship PC, and on my laptop which shares a wireless connection. Please share with me any problems that you have had in this regard so that I can tell the English-as-a-second-language person who handles my complaint if this is an area-wide problem.

 

*I’m assuming that the helpful person whom I’ll be communicating with will be a native of an non-
English speaking country. That’s fine; we all need to bring home some bacon.

  1. I don’t have DSL, but you might want to give power-cycling the modem a shot if you haven’t already. I’ve had cable modems freak out before and grind to a near halt.

  3. Rebooting the modem, I never think to reboot the modem. Well, that seems to have corrected the problem. Thanks Eric. Thanks Shoo.
