I’m given to wonder what you may have ingested before watching Little Nicky in college. It must have been intensely mind altering. Granted, I only watched 153 seconds of it, but I’m assuming Sandler used the same annoying voice throughout.

My wife really liked Punch-Drunk Love and insists that I would too, but I just can’t bring myself to watch it.

Sandler was sometimes funny on Remote Control.

It seemed that Adam Sandler turned over the best material of that film to his supporting actors. Granted, I haven’t seen it again since I saw it in the theaters during college, but I liked it at the time.

Actually, Sandler’s someone I’ve enjoyed more often than not. “Billy Madison” and “Happy Gilmore” are in regular rotation as background-comedy DVDs during housework. His Aerosmith’s greatest-hits bit on “SNL” was priceless. And he’s wonderful in “Punch-Drunk Love,” one of my favorite modern film romances.

That said, “I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry” is a strong candidate for the worst movie of 2007, possibly the decade’s 10 worst.

I think Sandler has his moments. He can be funny when he’s not doing his goggledy-gook voices and he moves beyond the 13 year old potty humor. He just too often chooses to do irritating, completely senseless stuff that is a lot funnier in his head than it is on film.

He seemed to always play the same character on “SNL.” I will admit that the gay beer commercial was inspired.

I may have commented on this before but I once heard a “comedy” CD Sandler made. It sounded like something that three 13 year olds could come up with in one night after drinking a case of Mountain Dew.

Incredibly overrated.
