Super Boss Fun-Time Music Trivia

As thoughts turn to turkey, and away from the boring tasks at hand, I thought you might enjoy a little trivia to serve as a diversion. This set is from my recently copyrighted “Who’s Missing?” series that’s about to send the trivia world awhirl. I give you the names of people who belong to a specific group, you give me the one name that is missing from that group. I’ve chosen a musical theme for this category, but this format also lends itself to sports, movies, or for you fans of the Periodic Table of the Elements, chemistry compounds.

To make it interesting and to keep Russ from winning before others have had a chance to answer, I’m going to hold your answers for moderation, which means that they won’t appear in the comments section after you submit. Please don’t be alarmed or feel that you’ve been censored by the BFS Ministry of Decency. Sometime later in the week I’ll post all of your responses and identify the correct answers. And please remember, Googling is for chumps. It would be extremely easy to answer all of these questions with the help of the Web, but given the broad range of acts included, should prove quite challenging using only your previously learned knowledge.

Some type of prize should be in order for anyone answering all ten questions correctly. I don’t know what that might be, but I’ll think about it. Good luck.

  1. I’m not going to do well on this since there’s no James Blunt anywhere on the list, but here goes nothing…

    1) Paul Shaffer (seems like I’ve heard that before somewhere)
    2) George O’Dowd
    3) Lenny Kravitz
    4) Ah…Susanna Hoffs. She definitely smiled at me in the front row when they played the state fair in ‘87. Good times.
    5) Easy. Tweedy.
    6) This is a tough one because it’s one of two guys. I know that Johnny Gill got started in New Edition, but the voice on Cool it Now, “Ronnie, Bobby, Ricky & Mike” is too high pitched to be him. Can’t think of anybody else though. Maybe it was pre-puberty.
    7) Croft?
    8) Lenny Kravitz
    9) Lenny Kravitz
    10) Beyonce.
    Bonus - Cher

  2. These are hard! I can only get three:

Q4: Susanna Hoffs, loved the Bangles

    Q10: Beyonce Knowles

    Bonus: Cher

Couldn’t you have thrown in a gimme question like:
    Stewart Copeland
    Andy Summers
    ?

I feel musically stupid now, but it was fun trying!
