T and V Trivia Answers

That was easier than I expected. There were five questions that everybody knew and the cumulative score was a whopping nine.
I left off my real stumper (Nanny and the Professor) because I thought it would make the quiz too difficult and because the actor who played the professor has a name that would have provoked a lot of snickering and off-color comments. I should have thrown it in.
So I’m mighty impressed with Johann who aced it. And I’m also impressed with Looking for Springfield who was the only other one to answer question nine correctly.
The final standings:
Johann – 10+1
M.B. – 9+1
Russ – 9+1
Mike de la Loyala – 8+1
Doug D – 8+1
Casey – 8+1
Laura – 7+1
Looking for Springfield – 7+1
Tammy, not my wife – 6+1
1 – Debra Messing and Eric McCormack
Will & Grace – I rarely watched this show, only when prompted by my wife. I guess it was okay.
2 – Jane Curtin and Susan Saint James
Kate & Allie – Nothing, never saw it.
3 – Rock Hudson and Susan Saint James
McMillan & Wife – I do remember wathcing this and thinking that Susan was quite the thing. Never would have guessed that McMillan would have rather solved crimes with Will
4 – Joe Penny and William Conrad
Jake & the Fatman – What’s Joe Penny up to these days?
5 – Jenna Elfman and Thomas Gibson
Dharma & Greg – Again, nothing.
6 – Sharon Gless and Tyne Daly
Cagney & Lacey – In a more enlightened time, this would have been a romance instead of a police drama.
7 – Jack Alberston and Freddie Prinze
Chico & the Man – I do remember watching this and thinking Chico was pretty cool and the Man was awfully cranky.
8 – Mike Judge and Mike Judge
Beavis & Butthead – The first time I saw this I thought it was the stupidest thing ever. Eventually its charms revealed themselves to me.
9 – Jeff Goldblum and Ben Vereen
Tenspeed & Brown Shoe – I have seen this; I didn’t pull it out of a book of obscure TV trivia. Doug almost stumble upon the answer with: Buckaroo Bonzai and the Soft Shoe Man. So close.
10 – Josh Peck and Drake Bell
Drake & Josh – I switched the name order in an attempt to confuse you. The fat one is obviously ripping off Lou Costello.
Bonus question:
Erin Moran and Scott Baio
Joanie Loves Chachi – I heard that Joanie loved a lot of people, if you know what I mean.
WOW. I bow to Johann, King of All Trivia. Knowing short-lived 1980 midseason replacements would have to come in handy at a trivia night eventually. Don’t make any plans for any Saturday nights, Johann.

HA! Thanks, Russ, though I think you’re being a bit too kind. Acing this quiz doesn’t make me the trivia royalty you graciously proclaimed me to be (I must concede that crown to you and Dan) near so much as it says I used to watch- and continue to watch- way too much television.
I keep wanting to throw my proverbial hat into the ring for Trivia Saturday Nights, but I am fearful of being exposed as not knowing nearly as much useless information as I want people to think I know. I absolutely love trivia nights- if I may brag a bit, there is only one I have attended at which my table did NOT place in the money- but with each one I attend, I discover I’m less and less the “trivia guy” I thought I was…

Johann, I’m not as good at trivia as I let on either, although Russ is. Come to the firefighter’s club Saturday night. Most of the wives can’t play so we need players.
