Dan,

Thanks. Appreciate the insight. And I aim to get one prior to Christmas, this month, in fact. No telling how much they'll be by even next month as we head into the Christmas season.

Enjoyed your article in the SJR on Sunday about running.

Brian,

We got our Wii at Target. I think I paid around $260. You can always find new ones on Craigslist for about $20-$30 over the retail price. I imagine that price will go up around Christmas time.

Too funny. I was just joking the other night while playing Wii with a bunch of jr highers at my church (youth group) that they needed a new term - Wii elbow or Wii shoulder - for Wii related injuries.

Where did you end up purchasing yours? I'm hunting for one and am interested to know where everyone got theirs and how much you paid. Thanks!

On Wii, I'm embarassed to admit how much tennis elbow I was feeling after 2 nights of Wii bowling/tennis/golf with Rock Robster. Of course, smashing said elbow against their basement wall in pursuit of a wicked backhand didn't help.....

I can't wait to try a Wii. Wii have friends in Joliet with one, but my husband has been the only one lucky enough to go up and play so far.

Hey, the IL Bureau of Tourism is putting on a blogger meet up in Springfield IL. They are offering a full day of family friendly activites and tours plus deep discounts on hotels if you need it. It's Sept 13, leave a comment at my blog or shoot me an email if you are interested in getting on the guest list.

Wii: Wait until you start the all-consuming march to Tennis Pro. Play with someone and it is a good time for all instead of competing against each other. It is bonding for the wife and I.

Music: The band Silver Darling is releasing their first LP next week. I heard them on the songs:illinois blog which is pretty nice.
www.songsillinois.net

Beer: Since it is the Oktoberfest season, I have been focusing on that arena. The Breckenridge Autmn Ale isn't bad although it is more of an English nut brown/brown ale. The Schlafly Oktoberfest is swell. I picked up some of the Rogue Double Dead Guy but I haven't cracked it yet. And if you want to drop $16, buy the Rogue XS Imperial Younger Special Bitter. It was tasty but I think the normal Rogue YSB is better.

I brewed a Stout on Sunday becuase I have no lagering capacity to make an Oktoberfest. I can give an update in about a month when it is ready. I have tentatively named it Red Cobbler's Exuviation Stout.
